To Whom It May Concern;
Rocky Vista University (RVU) College of Osteopathic Medicine is in Parker, Colorado, a suburb of Denver, and was founded in 2008. Each class of 160 medical students makes Rocky Vista the largest undergraduate Medical School in Colorado. A second campus of 125 students per class opened in July 2017 in Ivins, Utah. Since it's opening, RVU has achieved National recognition as the largest for-profit medical school in the country with an outstanding faculty, and a renowned President and Dean guiding its growth and achievements.
Located within RVU is the Rocky Vista Health Center (RVHC) which is a twelve exam room Primary Care clinic. The Health Center serves not only the 640 undergraduate medical students, but post-graduate students in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Surgery as well as a new program: The Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (MSBS). The faculty and staff of over 120 and their families are patients at the Health Center as well. The center is staffed by a Medical Director and two additional Supervising Physicians (MD and DO) and 36 Residents (MD and DO) completing their three-year Internal Medicine Residency program. RVHC is an extremely busy Internal Medicine facility currently seeing over 15,000 annually.
In 2013, RVU was approached by UVAIRx about placing their units within certain areas of the University to demonstrate the effectiveness of their equipment in a medical facility. RVU agreed and the first installation was in the Anatomy Lab where the odor from formaldehyde was intense. Those units proved effective and are still in use today.
The second area most suited for testing within the University was the clinic (RVHC). UVAIRx UxlOS units were placed in the waiting room area, nurses' stations, staff lounges and the front office space. The most immediate effect of the UX-105 was the almost immediate elimination of odors within the clinic and the cessation of coughing and sneezing by staff members most likely caused by various VolatileOrganicCompounds (VOCs) found in the clinic along with Allergens and other common airborne fungal pathogens.
Patients typically don't spend a long period of time in the clinic and often their visits can be weeks apart. Therefore, it was difficult to determine what effect the Uxl0S may have had on their brief exposure. The medical staff agreed to have UVAIRx conduct "swab tests" throughout the clinic with the results read by an independent laboratory and the results were remarkable. Petri dishes were obtained from the initial "swab tests" prior to the UVAIRx units being placed throughout the clinic with various bacteria, virus, fungus, molds and spores clearly present everywhere we tested, and a second series of tests were conducted after the installation of the UVAIRx units and the change was remarkable. Whereas the "before" petri dishes were covered with harmful bacteria and the like, the "after" petri dishes were virtually clear. Myself and the medical staff were extremely impressed and the Uxl0S units remain in the clinic to this day. I highly recommend their use in an Internal Medicine or Primary Care clinic.
